Manhattan coffee lovers got more than just their morning caffeine hit when they stopped in for their morning drink recently.
While it appeared it was business as usual at their café, those stopping by soon found themselves caught up in a supernatural experience.
Unsuspecting customers were interrupted from buying their coffees by a woman yelling at a man who had knocked over her drink, spilling it all over her papers and computer.
Bemused customers cast disapproving looks before the woman erupts in an apocalyptic rage, the Daily Mail reported.
The girl uses telekinesis to throw the man against the wall, scatter tables and bring down books and pictures from the wall, prompting shrieks of horror from the onlookers.
Turns out though, it wasn’t real. The unsuspecting customers had found themselves on the receiving end of a case of prankvertising.
The horror café scene was filmed as a marketing ploy for the upcoming release of a remake of Stephen King’s classic Carrie.
The stunt, dubbed Telekinetic Coffee Shop Surprise, has received nearly four million views since it was posted on You Tube.
It begins showing how the stunt was set up and captures the customers’ reactions which range from staring in horror or fleeing.
Prankvertising is becoming more popular. LG recently hit the headlines for a similar stunt in which it fooled job applicants they were witnessing the end of the world as an advert for it Ultra HD TV.
