Spy agencies will be bolstered with an extra 1,900 employees, according to UK PM David Cameron.
Spy agencies across the UK are preparing for a major recruitment push after PM David Cameron confirmed 1,900 more employees would be taken on board in an attempt to counter ISIS.
The proposed move is thought to be the biggest increase in British security operations since the July 7 terrorist attacks in London, more than a decade ago.
If the plan goes through, spy agencies, MI5, MI6 and GCHQ can expect a 15 per cent increase in staff – they currently have a combined workforce of about 12,700 employees.
"We need to do more to ensure our agencies have the resources and the information they need to prevent and disrupt plots against this country at every stage so ... we will make a major additional investment," Cameron said.
The major investment comes in the wake of several devastating terrorist attacks across Paris and a number of foiled plans throughout Europe.
