"Help Niek" site lands designer job

As HR sorts through hundreds of resumes for every opening, unemployed people around the world are getting more creative about finding work, as this witty website shows.

HR often has to slog through a large pile of resumes to narrow down the applications for a position, but unemployed people are getting better at promoting themselves and their skills - even when that includes posting photos of themselves in their underwear.

Dutch man Niek Gooren isn't an underwear model, he's a multimedia designer, and his website highlighting his unemployment saw him flooded with job offers.

The site included a photo of Gooren eating chips on a couch in his underwear with the caption "As you read this, Niek is alone and jobless."

Gooren included his resume and portfolio along the site, as well as selling points such as a graph showing how a company's creativity and sex appeal will increase when he joins the team. He also suggests he'd be a cheaper employee because he doesn't take milk or sugar in his coffee.

First launched in September 2013, the site has landed Gooren a job at a PR firm, according to local Dutch media reports. He had received about "50 offers" and a new version of the website shows him in an office with a bottle of bubbly, captioned: "As you read this, Niek is washing down his crisps with champagne."
