Wellness goes beyond encouraging physical health, but how can HR assess and improve the mental wellbeing of their workforce?

    A good article on an important issue which expands the obligation of accommodation in the workplace.

    I might add that HR Professionals should be training staff not only on conflict resolution, but how to recognize the signs of possible mental illness, and establishing a protocol, through HR, on how to address and handle concerns.

    Often, it's too late to deal with both the conduct and the response. Early and positive intervention is critical.

    In British Columbia there is a requirement under new regulations for employers to educate employees including managers and supervisors about bullying and harassment. Mental health claims have now overtaken MSD claims.
