    Earlier when HRM Online posted about Mr. Mark Fogel's experience in “cleaning up” his company’s supply chain in China, I noted that he was very fortunate to not have been arrested on trumped up charges. I omitted that “suicide” could also have been Mr. Fogel’s fate, just like Jia Lining's in this article. Remember, China is China, and things are very different there compared to Canada or other Western countries. Anyone who goes to China should enjoy themselves but be extremely careful at the same time – just ask Kevin and Julia Garratt, Canadians who have been detained in China since last August.
