What does the shock McDonalds labour board judgement means for Canadian franchises? More work for HR, for one thing.

    If corporations such at McDonald's try to create a public image of a place to work that really takes care of their employees, then the suggestion in this article seems ill-advised. My understanding of franchisee/franchisor relationships, is that the franchisor is very concerned about their reputation, because that is what they are "selling" to the franchisee. So taking a hands-off approach to HR would undermine this effort to maintain a certain reputation I would think.
