HR teams deserve to be celebrated, says VP

The organization which sponsors one of Canada’s most coveted HR awards has spoken out about the accolade, saying dedicated teams deserve to be rewarded.

“We believe that HR teams who commit to building strong and rewarding workplaces deserve to be recognized and celebrated,” says Chris Lee, VP of marketing and communications at Accompass.

The benefits, investment, and compensation firm is a long-time supporter of the Canadian HR Awards and this year the organization is sponsoring the award for HR Team of the Year (500 employees or more).

Won last year by energy solutions provider Enercare, the HR Team of the Year Award recognizes only the most outstanding teams which have excelled across their business as a whole by partnering with different functions.

“The Canadian HR Awards are an important way to remind organizations about the value of the HR function, and their role in creating winning businesses,” says Lee. “And of course, it’s a great way to celebrate the best teams that are constantly pushing the envelope and championing a better workplace.”

Lee’s comments come just two weeks before the nominations close for this year’s Canadian HR Awards.

“We’ve had a fantastic response to the call for submissions but there is still plenty of time for individuals, teams, or entire organizations to put themselves – or a colleague – forward for one of the Canadian HR Awards,” says event director Chris Davis.

“As Chris said, excellent teams and individuals deserve to be recognized for what they’re doing – this is perfect opportunity.”

Awards which will be given out on the night include the Award for Best Workplace Culture, the Award for Most Innovative Use of HR Technology, and the Award for Best Learning and Development Strategy.
